Part of the Edward Green Country collection, the 6" Galway Boots in Dark Oak feature a smooth calfskin vamp and a pebble-grain country calf upper. The double-thick sole is very comfortable for walking, and its Dainite rubber finishing provides great traction in any weather, with the added benefit of a simple studded tread that won't track dirt and mud inside.
For a subtle, appealing contrast to the Galway's quietly rugged character, we requested for these boots to be made on Edward Green's excellent 82 last. Somewhat sleeker than the wider-than-average, occasionally 'bulbous' 202 last, the 82 last suggests a more elegant look. Its width is fairly standard, yet the 82's graceful build creates a more understated silhouette without compromising the boot's rugged appeal. Shoetrees included. Please don't hesitate to call with any sizing questions.
The double monk strap Westminster is one of our most sought after Edward Green shoes. Having a soft spot for suede leather, we have this model made for us in clove, dark navy and loden suede as well as in a burnished dark oak calf skin. All are made on the sleek 82 last with a classic rounded toe and in the D width with the exception of the calf skin version which is done on the 82 last. The sizing scale includes both British and American sizes, and a U.S. size 10 is expressed as 9 1/2 / 10. Edward Green continues to make each pair of shoes individually with traditional hand craftsmanship at their factory in Northampton, England, as they have done since 1890. Shoetrees included.
